On Tuesday, January 15, TRECA Digital Academy students participated in Science of Hockey Day with the Columbus Blue Jackets!
The event was geared towards students in grades 3-6 and explored the math and science that occurs every day at Nationwide Arena! The event kicked off with a school assembly where two Navigators, Jonathan Weaver and Morgan Sieber, were selected to represent TRECA in a number of activities ! The challenges consisted of an obstacle course, trivia, and a shootout against the Blue Jackets’ goalie! After the assembly, students had the opportunity to open skate on the main ice. To conclude the day, families were invited to the evening hockey game where they used a workbook to apply reading, math, and scientific principles to the sport of hockey. Go Blue Jackets!
